Day 1

• Arrival Havana

• Classic Car tour of Old Havana 

• Guided walking tour Habana Vieja  

• Dinner at Paladar 

 

Day 2

• Introductory presentation at hotel by Professor: A brief history of Cuba and Cuba today;  Gender and Race in Cuba

• Salsa Dance lesson in Old Havana

• Lunch at Paladar

• Walk the Malecon to Parque Jose Marti

• Youth baseball games and donate baseball and sports equipment to teams

• Walk to Patronato Synagogue and presentation on religion in Cuba

• Visit Museo de la Revolucion  

• Dinner at hotel and free night

 

Day 3

• Visit and program at Martin Luther King Centre in Central Havana  

• Visit and program at Artist Jose Fuster’s House – the Picasso of Cuba

• Baseball game with Industriales at Stadium

• Dinner at Paladar

 

Day 4

• Guided walking tour in Cojimar of Hemingway haunts: villa, boat, marina, etc.

• Trip to Pinar Del Rio province

• Stop en route to Vinales for lunch at Paladar

• Guided tour of tobacco plantation and surroundings 

• Check in at finca for overnight stay

• Dinner at Paladar

 

Day 5

• Horseback ride and hiking 

• Lunch at Finca – paladar

• Tour of Moncada Cave

• Free time

• Dinner at Finca - paladar

 

Day 6

• Tour the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Las Terrazas and explanation of the massive reforestation project undertaken there in 1968. 

• Learn about about artist Lester Campa’s unique paper recycling project @his private studio.

• Lunch at Paladar

• Hike the Las Delicias hills to the San Juan Valley lookout. Descend 1500m to Buenavista coffee ruins to learn about history of coffee development in the first half of the 19th century and role of coffee in Cuban culture. 

• Arrive in rural forested area 

• Dinner at Finca - paladar

 

Day 7

• Guided hike in the hills en route to Havana

• Callejon de Hamel area for lunch at Paladar

• Callejon de Hamel street activity

• Muelles de San Jose in Old Havana 

• Casa de la Musica Miramar for music matinee show  

• Gourmet dinner at paladar

• Visit Fabrica de Arte Cubano 

 

Day 8

• Visit Hotel Ambos Mundos and Hemingway’s room 

• Free time for shopping 

• Lunch at Paladar

• Habana Vieja for tour of art gallery, museum, churches and Plaza Vieja

• Farewell dinner at paladar in Vedado

 

Day 9

• Departure Havana
